Leonard was founded in 1958. Two years later, Daniel Tribouillard, Chief Executive Director, at that time, invented a new printing technique for pullovers named Fully Fashion. Leonard took out a patent for this technique which allows to knit with a continous print.In 1969, Leonard launched its first fragrance named Fashion de Leonard.Creating a new Leonard design is not only an art, it is a complex, intricate, and time-consuming process that involves an entire creative team.
After an initial theme has been selected, the artists in the design studio bring it to life on paper. Beofre creating a new model, the studio team selects different kinds of material solid colours and prints. Immediately after that, they combine all these elements to create a range of sophisticated printed fabrics. Leonard uses mainly silk jersey.When the garment is finished, it is tried on a real mannequin with specfic measurements in the studio. When all models are finished, and the collection is complete, the fashion show can start. It is a moment full of emotion, results of intensive team work.
